    GEORG JUNG* (Salzburg 1899 - 1957 Vienna)

    Est: €4,000 - €6,000

GEORG JUNG* (Salzburg 1899 - 1957 Vienna) The error, 1920 oil/chipboard, 32,4 x 51,7 cm signed G. Jung, dated 20 ESTIMATE °€ 4000 - 6000 STARTING PRICE °€ 4000 The Austrian painter Georg Jung was largely self-taught. In 1918 he presented in Salzburg, and in 1923 for the first time in the Vienna Secession. Thematically, Jung's work is characterized by its diversity: in addition to general human themes, he took up objects from mythology and Christian tradition. He dealt intensively with it of color as a formation of partial quantities of light and traveled to Dresden to meet Wilhelm Ostwald, who is responsible for his research Color theory received the Nobel Prize. Jung created the large oil painting “The Error” (1920), which shows influences from Cubism and Futurism a series of small oil studies. The expressive, small-scale ones “Color dramas” cannot be manufactured 1:1 in certain regions of the world Insert painting. Jung's terribly beautiful vision is based on the Gnostic view of creation as a dubious act of the demiurge, who creates the inferior, carnal human being with his base desires by mixing the divine pneuma with evil matter. Until his salvation, man is infinitely far away from God. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. In the case of normal taxation (marked °), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax of 13%, for photographys 20%, is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium. The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
