Artist Tom Keating began as an art restorer, touching up paintings by other artists before turning to a new line of work: art forger. His work in art restoration and his study of many famous painters and their works gave him an understanding of each one’s style, which he was able to copy into new works, often sold at auction as originals. Over the course of his lifetime as an artist, Tom Keating claimed to have created over 2,000 paintings in the style of painters like Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Renoir.
Once his deception was uncovered, Tom Keating's paintings began to take on a life of their own and were sought by collectors on their own merits. Now, Tom Keating’s artwork is for sale under his own name — both original works and forgeries of famous paintings. Find stunning portrait paintings for sale and bring character to your living space.
