Jonathan Knight Biography
Jonathan Knight creates smooth tactile bronze sculptures of animals in varying sizes ranging from small to monumental. Growing up in the countryside of Sussex he became fascinated with nature and its creatures. Since the 1970s Knight has been creating naturalistic sculptures of birds, horses, exotic as well as domestic wildlife. His pieces are cast by the lost-wax process and issued in small limited editions. To enhance the lifelikeness of his bronze animals, a patina is applied to the smooth surface - a process executed by the artist himself. Today Knight in recognized as one of the leading animaliers of his generation.
