        Important hanging scroll (kakejiku) by Shiba Kôkan (1747 1818) with a rare night scene painting of two cranes standing in water next to blue irises (hanashobu) against a black background by the painter and scholar of Dutch studies Shiba K?kan. Signed K?kan Shiba Shun and a signature in “European script”. In a box. Meiji Period. Total size : 66 x 224 cm; painting : l. : 51,5 cm; H. : 129 cm. Peinture importante sur rouleau (kakejiku) par Shiba Kôkan (1747 1818). figurant une rare scène de nuit avec deux grues japonaises se tenant debout, les pattes dans l’eau, à côté d’iris bleus (hanashobu), le tout sur un fond noir.
