          DOPPELPORTRAIT VON TERESA UND MARIA MILANOLLO, 1843 Sichtmaß: 37,5 x 29,5 cm. Rahmenmaß: 40,5 x 32 cm. Lithografie auf Papier. Als Sitzfiguren dargestellt mit darunter befindlicher Kartusche mit Nennung ihrer Namen. Teresa Milanollo (1827-1904) erhielt ihren ersten Unterricht in Savigliano und Turin, später dann in Brüssel und Paris. In den 1830er-Jahren folgten erste Auftritte in Italien, später in Frankreich und anderen Ländern, welche sie in den 1840er-Jahren als Wunderkind berühmt machten. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt stand sie mit ihrer kleinen Schwester auf der Bühne und ging auf Konzert-Tourneen. Jedoch starb Maria Milanollo (1832-1848) bereits 1848 an Tuberkulose. (13802534) (13)

          Josef Kriehuber (Austrian, 1800-1876) Karoline Pichler, circa 1830s Oil on canvas 22" x 16 1/2" A portrait of Karoline Pichler (Austrian, 1769-1843), a novelist and pupil of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who operated a literary salon attended by Beethoven, Schubert, and Schlegel. Josef Kriehuber was perhaps the most significant portrait artist of the Biedermeier period, painting an astounding number of noteworthy figures from the era including Francis I, Marie-Louise, Archdukes Johann, von Metternich, Liszt, Strauss, Pagganini, Schubert, Berlioz, Grillparzer, and many, many more. Artist signature and sitter identification to the reverse of the original canvas (before it was lined with a Belgian linen in a vintage restoration), as pictured on a Polaroid included with the painting. Presented in a lighted gilt frame measuring 26" x 21".
