Laera has worked for magazines like Icon, GQ, Spiegel, InStyle and Kaltblut. - The present work shows "The Temptation of St. Anthony" by Michelangelo projected onto the nude model, both blending into one another. Reflecting on this work Laera himself has said: "I was inspired by a famous painting by Michaelangelo and a famous engraving by Schongauer. The temptation of St. Anthony is the theme of these masterpieces. My new work is a reinterpretation of this theme. I have replaced the old figures of St. Anthony with young, strong, seductive men. They are projected over the old masterpieces. The demons' attempts to seize and attack their sculpted bodies fail. The young men rise, an allusion to reaching the heavenly gates and securing a place in heaven". – In excellent condition. - - Exhibited: Another print of this work, together with "The Temptation of St. Anthony after Schongauer" by Vincenzo Laera, will be exhibited as a diptych at the ITSLIQUID International Art Fair, May 12-June 03, 2022, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, Venice. - - Sollten Sie detailliertere Zustandsberichte wünschen, kontaktieren Sie uns bitte. / Should you need more detailed condition reports, please contact us.
