A pair of beautiful hand-colored lithographs by Emile Lassalle - a French lithographer and painter of portrait and genre subjects, after works by Carlos Nebel, a German-born artist best known for his drawings of Mexican architecture and landscapes in addition to his contributions to 19th century costumbrismo, a form of literature addressing customs and manners. Two stunning works, set in matching sky blue and white mats under glass in gilded decorative frames. Size: 10.75" L x 13.875" W (27.3 cm x 35.2 cm); 19.25" L x 22" W (48.9 cm x 55.9 cm) including double mat and frame Nebel was among the early European visitors to the archaeological site of El Tajin.
