Work in good condition, framed. The Cathedral of Montevideo or Mother Church, as seen by the French artist Lauvergne in 1836. In front, in the square, various Montevideo characters or types. A lady with her back, with a big comb, goes to the temple.On his right walks a candle seller, and on his left rest two oxen, tied to a cart. It is the plate number 11 of the Album Historique that was part of the chronicle of the trip made by August Nicholas Vaillant. Barthélem's drawingAnd Lauvergne (Toulon, 1805 - Carcès, 1871), was lithographed by Guiand, with the figure of Bayot, in the Lemercier Printing Office in Paris. The three lithographs presented in lots 29 to 31 illustrate the chronicle of the trip made by August Nicholas Vaillant, entitled Voyage Autour du Monde exécuté, pendant les années 1836 et 1837, sur la Corvette de Sa Majesté La Bonite. (Paris: Arthus-Bertrand, 1840-1866). Collection that was formed with fifteen text albums and three Atlas with maps and engravings, today unfindable in the market.The French corvette La Bonite made an extensive journey that took her from the port of Cadiz to Rio de Janeiro, the Río de la Plata -anchored in Montevideo-, the Malvinas, Cape Horn, Valparaíso, Cobija, Lima, and after a long journey, returnSó to the port of France two years later. The crew was also integrated with naturalists, hydrographers and other scientists, and two draftsmen, Barthelemy Lauvergne and Theodore Fisquet, plus the engineer and painter Stanislas Henri Benoit Darondeau. Obra en buen estado, enmarcada. La Catedral de Montevideo o Iglesia Matriz, tal cual la vio el artista francés Lauvergne en 1836. Delante, en la plaza, diversos personajes o tipos montevideanos. Una dama de espaldas, con gran peinetón, se dirige al templo. A su derecha camina un vendedor de velas, y a su izquierda descansan dos bueyes, ligados a un carro. Se trata de la placa número 11 del Album Historique que formó parte de la crónica del viaje realizado por August Nicholas Vaillant. El dibujo de Barthélemy Lauvergne (Toulon, 1805 - Carcès, 1871), fue litografiado por Guiand, con la figura de Bayot, en la Imprenta Lemercier de París. Las tres litografías presentadas en los lotes 29 a 31 ilustran la crónica del viaje realizado por August Nicholas Vaillant, titulada Voyage Autour du Monde exécuté, pendant les années 1836 et 1837, sur la Corvette de Sa Majesté La Bonite.
