The stretcher titles the work "#5 / From the Studio Window". Signed lower left. Housed in the likely original gilt molded frame with a later surface. Circa 1930. 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" sight, 14 1/4" x 11 1/4" OA. Catalogue Note: Born in Reading, PA, Mary B. Leisz began taking painting lessons at the age of 15 under the instruction of fellow Berks Co. artist Christopher High Shearer (American, 1846-1926). She is known for her landscape and genre paintings, working in both oil and watercolor, and is considered one of the most prolific Berks Co. female artists.
