Plate dimensions approx. 25.5 x 40.5 cm. Sheet dimensions approx. 31.5 x 43.5 cm. Both signed or titled on the plate. Mounted in passepartouts and framed under glass. Frame dimensions: 48 x 60 cm. The graphics presented here are classic Augsburg peep show prints from the late 18th century. Characteristic of this type is the title line printed in reverse at the top edge of the sheet, which becomes readable for the viewer when viewed through the optics of a peep show box (quadrant). Sheet 1 (The Hague): Shows a lively view of the Buitenhof in The Hague with figures and carriages against the backdrop of the Binnenhof complex. Sheet 2 (Paris): A perspective view of the "Samaritaine" at the Pont Neuf in Paris, a former pumping station that was considered a distinctive architectural landmark of the city. The sheets feature a period-typical, vibrant old coloring. The condition is good for their age, with charming signs of aging.
