It measures 54.5 x 64 cm. Li Shan (born 1942) LI Shan was born in Lanxi in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang. In 1963 he began studying painting at the local academy and moved to the Theatre Academy in Shanghai in 1964. In his early work he combined the tradition of ink painting with Western style elements. Since the 1990s, he has been devoting himself to the Political Pop. Li Shan has exhibited his work internationally, including the Venice Biennale in 1993. He lives and works in Shanghai.
