His work often depicted European and American scenes with vibrant color and light.Lintott spent much of his career in France, where he became a member of the Societe des Artistes Francais. He returned to the U.S. in later years, continuing to paint until his death in 1951. Today, his works are held in private collections and museums, reflecting his contribution to early 20th-century art.

Artwork by Edward Barnard Lintott (1875-1951). Printed for H.M. Stationery Office by Waterlow & Sons, London, Dunstable & Watford. The Empire Marketing Board was formed in May 1926 by Colonial Secretary Leo Amery to promote intra-Empire trade and to persuade consumers to 'Buy Empire'. It was established as a substitute for tariff reform and protectionist legislation and this is why it was eventually abolished in 1933, as a system of imperial preference replaced free trade. During its brief existence, the Empire Marketing Board was unsuccessful in raising Britain's imports of products from the Empire. Horizontal. The painting shows five farmers dressed in red, cutting sisal in a large field of crops which rise above head height. In the foreground is a railway and in the background blue sky with pink clouds. Offered is an oil on canvas painting by Edward Barnard Lintott (1875 - 1951). Titled "Red and White Carnations". Signed lower right. Large beautiful still life. Sight seen approx. 24-1/2" x 30", overall frame size approx. 33" x 38". Verso has partial label from the Berskshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA, and piece of paper stapled over it with title of painting, which also reads "Gift of Grenville Lindall Winthrop". Some light surface scuffs to the canvas, and areas of restoration. Along the top edge of the stretcher is also a label with title. Frame shows some wear.
