Dobson' to base (20cm wide, 22cm deep, 34cm high) Footnote: Martin Lewinsky (1922-1944) was the son of the artist Thomas Lowinsky (1892-1947); this unique sculpture was commissioned by Thomas, who was a close friend of Dobson. Literature: Neville Jason and Lisa Thompson-Pharoah, 'The Sculpture of Frank Dobson', published by The Henry Moore Foundation in association with Lund Humphries, 1994, cat. no. 84, illustrated p.137. Condition Report: Dust and dirt to crevices. There is some white residue/ discolouration behind the sitter's left ear. Overall in good aesthetic condition.
