Lynchs "Summer Pattern" is a celebration of light, atmosphere, and the subtle choreography of forms that define a Colorado afternoon. Rendered in rich oils on linen, the painting captures a gently sloping wash of sun-bleached grasses and scattered stones that leads the eye into a wooded glade, where cottonwoods rise in clusters, their foliage a tapestry of gold-green shadow and dappled fire. Above, the sky unfolds in a silken vault of cerulean blue, scattered with warm clouds drifting across a scene both humble and vast. He continues to show at the annual Prix De West Exhibit at the National Cowboy Hall Of Fame in Oklahoma City. He was elected to membership in the Chelsea Arts Club, London in 1982. He has taught workshops throughout the country since 1989 and has an extensive resume as a lecturer on and teacher of the practice of outdoor painting.
