He studied painting under the tutelage of Otto Georgi. From 1895 onwards he was professor for etching at Städel in Frankfurt am Main. Using the copperplate in intaglio printing he created landscape- and city etchings, primarily though architectural etchings. One location used to display his etchings was in 1886 in the Berliner Nationalgalerie, dedicated by none other than Lionel von Donop. Drawings from him can be found in museums in Leipzig, Breslau and Berlin. --- Karl Julius Bernhard Mannfeld (1848-1925) Farbradierung, 1884 Signiert: B. März 1925 in Frankfurt am Main war ein deutscher Maler und Grafiker. Er lernte bei dem Maler Otto Georgi Malerei und Grafik. Von 1895 an war er Professor für Radierkunst am Städel in Frankfurt am Main. Mit der Kupferplatte im Tiefdruckverfahren schuf er Landschafts- und Städteradierungen, vorwiegend aber Architekturansichten. Unter anderem wurden seine Radierungen 1886 in der Berliner Nationalgalerie, kuratiert von Lionel von Donop ausgestellt. Zeichnungen von ihm befinden sich in Museen von Leipzig, Breslau und Berlin.
