The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hand tinted photograph that shows a view of the lake with the sun setting over a far hill inside the tree line probably on a hill size. R.E. Marble (1883-1938). Ray Elmer Marble (Montana, 1883-1938) was an iconic Montana photographer who had a studio in Belton, Montana and Whitefish, Montana and was hired by the Great Northern Railway to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. Renowned for his striking photographs of Glacier National Park, photographer, Marble's works is highly sought by collectors. The condition of this framed photograph shows well preserved stature with some small wear marks to the frame but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage to the photograph itself. The measurements of this framed photograph is 14 7/8" x 10 3/8" and the visible photograph measures 12 7/8" x 8 5/8".

      Featured in this lot is this framed hand tinted photograph of Lake MacDonald in Glacier National Park Montana by Montana photographer R.E. Marble born in 1883 - 1932. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hand tinted photograph that shows the whole of Lake MacDonald with snowcapped mountains in the distance. Ray Elmer Marble (Montana, 1883-1938) was an iconic Montana photographer who had a studio in Belton, Montana and Whitefish, Montana and was hired by the Great Northern Railway to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. The condition of this photograph is shows well preserved stature with some wear to the outside frame of the photograph but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage to the photograph. The measurements of this photograph are 6 3/4" x 11" and the visible photograph measures 5 7/8" x 10 1/8".

      The lot features two original photographs of Glacier National Park circa early 1900’s by R.E. Marble (1883-1938). Ray Elmer Marble (Montana, 1883-1938) was an iconic Montana photographer who had a studio in Belton, Montana and Whitefish, Montana and was hired by the Great Northern Railway to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. Renowned for his striking photographs of Glacier National Park, photographer, Marble's works is highly sought by collectors. The first, the smaller of the two, shows the pressed blind stamp bottom right “© R.E. MARBLE GLACIER PARK” and the back has his original stamp “The Marble Studio Belton, Mont. Western Entrance Glacier NAT’L. Park No. ____ (hand written) 11 ___ (hand written) Logan Pass highway Montana Picture.” This piece shows a gorgeous black and white original photograph of the towering peaks of Glacier National Park. Next is the larger piece showing the pressed blind stamp bottom right “© R.E. MARBLE GLACIER PARK” and the back has his original stamp “R.E. MARBLE, Park Photographer See America First Glacier National Park No. ___ (hand written) 833 __ (hand written) Waterton Lakes Studio Whitefish, Montana.” This is a truly beautiful original photograph of the tower peaks of Glacier National Park with creamy outstanding clouds and smooth waters of the Waterton Lakes which crosses the USA and Canada border in both Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park of Canada. Both are in good condition and are not framed. Larger measures 10 1/8” by 6.75”. Other 6 5/8” by 4 5/8”.

      This is an original photograph of Lake McDonald In Glacier National Park circa 1920's by R.E. Marble (1883-1938). This is a rare collectible piece marked on the photo in the lower right hand corner of the photograph reads Copyright, R. E. Marble, Glacier Park. (Montana, MT). This photo was taken while he was in Whitefish, MT and is in its original frame. The Great Northern Railway hired photographer Marble to take scenic pictures of Glacier National Park for its railroad brochures until 1924. He did not return to photograph Glacier again until 1932. Six years after his return, he died of a heart attack. Renowned for his striking photographs of Glacier National Park, photographer, Marble's works is highly sought by collectors. The visible portion of the photo measures 10 1/4" x 6". The frame measures 10 7/8" x 6 7/8". The frame has minor wear but the photograph appears to be in good condition.
