Jean Hippolyte Marchand, French 1883-1940- Carcassone, 1906; oil on board, signed lower left, 20.4x25.7cm (ARR) Provenance: Crane Kalman, London; Private Collection, London Exhibited: Crane Kalman Gallery, London, Jean Hippolyte Marchand, 1960 35.541x5cm(including frame) This piece is in a gilded wooden frame, there are some minor marks and scuffs to the frame but it is in otherwise very good condition. The work itself has some minor scratches, most notably is the scratch (approx 3cm) next to the small blue sale boat on the right side, there are also some scratches in the lower right area. There is less paint at the edges, but we would suggest this is from the artist's hand. The board is convey, which is what one would expect for a piece of this age. The piece would benefit from a clean. Overall it is in good condition.
