        Painting - Francis Marshall Sir Thomas Beecham conducting 'Koanga' at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, original painting in brush and ink and wash by the renowned artist and illustrator Francis Marshall (1901-1980), approx 12x9ins, fine condition, framed and glazed. Label to verso indicates this was purchased from a London Gallery for the Thomas Beecham Trust in 1986. Marshall is famous for his illustrations of glamorous women for Vogue magazine and for advertisements for Elizabeth Arden and Jaeger, giving rise to the term 'Marshall Girls'. His particular interest however was in the theatre music and ballet and this is a particularly fine example of his work.
