Miguel Martinez, Mexican/American (b. 1951), Portrait of a Woman, 2007, mixed media on board

        Est: $800 - $1,200

Miguel Martinez Mexican/American, (b. 1951) Portrait of a Woman, 2007 mixed media on board Martinez descends from an established Spanish family that once settled in Taos, New Mexico, and he has come to specialize in delicately colored portraits of women's faces that fill entire canvases. Most of these women do not meet the eye of the viewer--as is the case here with this beautifully-coiffed and finely-dressed figure wearing triple drop pearl earrings. She mysteriously casts her gaze well to the side of onlookers as Martinez executed the piece in stunning shades of emerald greens, earthy pinks, and and various true and imaginary skin tones. Signed and dated lower right, framed.
