Renowned for his use of bold colors and his distinctive style, Milan was an expressionistic colorist, employing innovative techniques of layering washes of fast drying acrylics at times reaching 25 layers in one painting, powerful brush strokes, splatters and palette knife to reveal a mystical illusion of the Southwest. Milan, primarily a self-taught artist, was accepted into his first gallery at the age of 17 and was shown in galleries from Florida to California, including his own gallery in Santa Fe.
