Van Sabben AuctionsTH. H. MOLKENBOER (1871-1920) ELIAS P VAN BOMMEL / BOEKBINDER. 1897. 33 1/2x24 inches, 85x61 cm. Condition A-: minor restoration in text at top and at edges. After completing his studies in Amsterdam, Molkenboer worked in various fields of the Applied Arts including pottery and book ornamentation. This strict black-and-white poster, portraying a bookbinder in profile absorbed in his work, is a very rare example of the woodblock technique applied to poster art. Dutch Posters 83, Modern Dutch 16.
