Müller-Kaempff studied at the academies in Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe from 1882/86. From 1886/88 he was a student of H. Gude in Berlin. His paintings are in museums in Oldenburg, Kiel and Rostock, among others. The artist later worked as a professor. The artist found many of his motifs in Ahrenshoop and its surroundings. He belonged to the local artists' colony.

WVZ Mahlfeld G 1246, mit leicht abweichenden Maßangaben. Paul Müller-Kaempff 1861 Oldenburg – 1941 Berlin Landschaftsmaler. 1880–83 Studium an der Akademie in Düsseldorf bei Hugo Crola und Heinrich Lauenstein. 1883–86 Studium an der Akademie Karlsruhe unter Theodor Poeckh und Gustav Schönleber. 1886–1889 Meisterschüler beim norwegischen Landschaftsmaler Hans Frederik Gude an der Berliner Akademie. 1887 erste Ausstellungsbeteiligung in Oldenburg. 1889 Beginn der freischaffenden Tätigkeit als Künstler sowie Studienreisen an die Ostsee (Fischland und Ahrenshoop).1892 Bau eines Hauses in Ahrenshoop und Gründung der Künstlerkolonie Ahrenshoop. Dort 1894 Eröffnung der Malschule und Pension "St. Lucas". In den folgenden Jahren mehrere Studienreisen an verschiedene Orte an der Ostsee, dort Kreierung von Postkartenentwürfen. 1904–28 Mitglied des Oldenburger Künstlerbundes. 1906 zum Professor ernannt. 1911–16 und 1920–22 zugleich in Berlin und Ahrenshoop ansässig. 1919 Verkauf der Malerschule und 1922 Verkauf seines Ahrenshooper Hauses. 1938 letzte Ausstellungsbeteiligung in Rostock.
