Alexandra Nechita (Born 1985) American, Signed Lithograph. Done in her signature abstract Cubist style. Signed and dated '03 in pencil bottom right. Numbered 191/195 in pencil bottom left. Overall Size: 40 1/4 x 33 3/4 in. Sight Size: 26 1/2 x 18 in. Alexandra Nechita was born on August 27th, 1985 in Vaslui, Romania, and two years later the family fled to California where she began working with pen and ink. By five she was experimenting with watercolors, and by the age of seven oil and acrylics were her primary tools, with her first solo exhibition at age eight at the public library in Whittier, Los Angeles County. She was taken to Paris in 1995 to work at the Mourlot Studios, and became the youngest artist to sign with International Art Publishers, dubbed the “Petite Picasso” by a local newspaper when she was only twelve. Before she turned eighteen she had presented over twenty solo exhibitions and made nearly $3 million in sales, gaining international attention when she was chosen to design the 39th Annual Grammy Awards Program in 1997. In 1999 she was selected by the World Federation of United Nations Association to lead a Global Arts Initiative, and from 2005 through 2007 she achieved numerous honors, including being elected to the Board of Selectors of the Jefferson Awards and being awarded Woman of the Year by the American Red Cross. She graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a degree in Fine Arts and currently lives in Los Angeles, where she continues to produce art in a predominantly Cubist format, both in original and commissioned works that command large sums all over the world.

Alexandra Nechita (Born 1987) American, Monumental Bronze Cubist Sculpture. A cubist figure of a woman kneeling and holding two birds in her outstretched hands. Signed on base. Made in 2004 at the foundry of Elliot Gantz and Co. in Farmingdale, New York. One of only 8 made in this size, making it extremely rare. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, explaining the number of available pieces and giving a title: "Let There Be Peace." Size: 23 x 18 x 38 in. Alexandra Nechita was born on August 27th, 1985 in Vaslui, three months after her father escaped from Communist Romania. She and her mother, Viorica, had to wait two years before they were allowed to join him in the United States. The family settled in California, where her father found work as a lab technician and her mother as an office manager. At the age of two she was working with pen and ink, and by five with watercolors. By her seventh birthday oil and acrylics were her primary tools. She had her first solo exhibition at age eight at the public library in Whittier, Los Angeles County. While studying at Orange Lutheran High School, a private school in Orange County, she was taken to Paris in 1995 to work at the Mourlot Studios. That same year she became the youngest artist to sign with International Art Publishers, and at age of 12 she was dubbed the “Petite Picasso” by a local newspaper. Before she turned eighteen she had presented over twenty solo exhibitions and made nearly $3 million in sales, gaining international attention when she was chosen to design the 39th Annual Grammy Awards Program in 1997. In 1999 she was selected by the World Federation of United Nations Association to lead a Global Arts Initiative, heralded both as a child prodigy and a bridge between many cultures for her style, composition, and diverse subject matter. In 2005 Nechita unveiled her United Nations Peace Monument for Asia in Singapore, to be displayed at the Catholic High School. Nechita was elected to the Board of Selectors of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service in 2006, and was awarded Woman of the Year by the American Red Cross in 2007. She graduated from UCLA in 2008 with a degree in Fine Arts and currently lives in Los Angeles. In 2014 she married longtime boyfriend Dimitry Tcharfas, with whom she has a daughter and a son, and she continues to produce art in a predominantly Cubist format, both in original and commissioned works that command large sums all over the world.

After immigrating to the United States at the age of one and a half, she began drawing at two and progressed to oil and acrylic painting by seven. Her first solo exhibition was held at a Los Angeles public library when she was just eight years old, garnering significant attention and earning her the nickname "Petite Picasso." By her early teens, Nechita had achieved international recognition, including designing the program for the 39th Annual Grammy Awards and leading a Global Arts Initiative for the United Nations in 1999.
