Porcelain sign / Enamel sign, stenciled and lithographed, GER early 1930ies, 64 x 90 cm, Pyro-Email - Boos & Hahn, Ortenberg-Baden, the depiction shows a portrait of Bernd Rosemeyer behind the steering wheel designed by Hans Neumann (Ger. artist, 1873-1957) - a posture one has seen often in the newspapers back then - Rosemeyer (died in an accident in 1938) was the most famous German racing driver pre WW2 and was an idol for the people. The sign is still preserved really beautifully, the surface shows nice gloss, with only single scratches, the colors are amazing with the nicely preserved strong shadows of the depiction - very rare!

Hans Neumann (Austria, 1873-1957) A.T. Dumtsa / Bordeaux - Rheinweine ca 1920 lithograph in colors on wove paper Designed and printed by Atelier Hans Neumann. Vienna. Neumann began his career in 1913 designing commercial posters as well as graphic inserts for magazines, flyers, brochures, and even sheet music. Prior to World War I, he worked briefly in Berlin while growing his business back in Austria. Among his largest clients were Mercedes-Benz, Persil, and Krupnik's Moden. As it became more and more obvious that Europe was heading towards war, he fled Austria in 1938, first to London, and then settling in Sydney, Australia where he continued to work in graphic design.
