    NATIVE AMERICAN GOUACHE, DOC TATE NEVAQUAYA Finer quality gouache painting on artist's board Doc Tate Nevaquaya (Commanche, 1932-1996). Doc Tate's works are usually single figures against an open ground without the landscape detail this piece has. A flautist himself, Tate painted this piece in the 1970's. It is signed lower right and measures 30 x 24 inches overall with a sight size of 23 x 16 inches. A record album titled Commanche Flute Music is included with this piece. Apparently very fine, not examined outside the frame and archival matting.
