Nikolai Nikolaevich Baskakov (Russian: May 8, 1918, Astrakhan, Soviet Russia – October 14, 1993, Saint Petersburg, Russia) - Soviet, Russian painter, a member of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists (before 1992 known as the Leningrad branch of Union of Artists of Russian Federation),[1] lived and worked in Leningrad, regarded as one of the leading representatives of the Leningrad school of painting,[2] most famous for his genre and portrait painting.
