Certified by VikingCloudArtist Norman Perceval Rockwell was born in New York in 1894 and studied at The New York School of Art, The National Academy of Design, and The Art Students League. He began his career while still in his teens, becoming art director of Boys' Life magazine and freelancing for several other publications.
In 1916, artist Norman Perceval Rockwell began what would become the defining art of his career with his first cover painting for The Saturday Evening Post. Rockwell's regionalism art often reflected small town life and graced the cover of The Saturday Evening Post 322 times over nearly five decades with the magazine. He also created modern paintings about subjects that concerned him personally, including civil rights and poverty in America. He is considered one of the most famous illustrators in American art, and you can still find Rockwell’s regionalism art for sale as prints and in collections of his popular magazine covers. Highlight your love of travel or your patriotism with vintage Americana and regionalist paintings and lithographs.
