Odili Donald Odita (b. 1966) The Nigerian Odili Donald Odita grew up in Columbus, Ohio, USA, and studied painting at the Ohio State University and at the Bennington College in Vermont. Odita creates mainly paintings; sometimes, he also works in the fields of photography and installation. Since the 1990s, he paints mainly large-scale works on canvas and plexiglass, as well as murals. Odita has been a professor of painting at the University of South Florida in Tampa, at the Florida State University in Tallahassee and at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
