Biography

Born in the Philippines, Ramon Orlina studied architecture before moving to sculpture in the 1970s. Ramon Orlina sculptures are made from glass, as the artist felt this was the material that best reflected the images he wanted to express. Ramon Orlina's artwork is always multi-faceted, allowing light to pass through at different angles, and this effect is reached through many hours of grinding and reshaping. Ramon Orlina sculptures can be enjoyed from various perspectives, as this gives the viewer the freedom to interpret and discover them in many different ways.
