Marguerite Stuber Pearson (1898-1978) Oil on Board, signed lower right "M. S. Pearson", piece measures 10 x 8 and 12 x 10 inches w/ frame. Thought to be a particularly early piece by the artist. Born in Philadelphia, Marguerite Pearson had childhood polio that confined her to a wheel chair, but she overcame that condition to have a distinguished career as a painter of exquisite interior scenes, figures and still life. She studied with William James and Frederick Bosley at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and studied figure painting with Edmund Tarbell. In 1941, she moved to Rockport, Massachusetts where she had been spending her summers. She was an active painter until age 80, and also taught classes in her studio.

She studied at the Boston Art Museum School; and Rockport Summer School, under A.T. Hibbard. She was a member of The North Shore Arts Association; Allied Artists of America; Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts; Rockport Art Association; American Artists Professional League; American Federation of Arts. Marguerite Stuber Pearson (1898 - 1978) Oil on Board, Born in Philadelphia, Marguerite Pearson had childhood polio that confined her to a wheel chair, but she overcame that condition to have a distinguished career as a painter of exquisite interior scenes, figures and still life. She studied with William James and Frederick Bosley at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts School and studied figure painting with Edmund Tarbell. In 1941, she moved to Rockport, Massachusetts where she had been spending her summers. She was an active painter until age 80, and also taught classes in her studio.
