Antique French Fire Screen with Romance Paintings

French Victorian fan-form fire screen constructed of veneered wood with bronze mounts and a scroll-form stand, inset with ten glass-covered watercolor paintings depicting romance genre, maritime, and historical scenes. Three watercolor panels are signed "Lionel P." lower right, likely by Lionel Peraux (French, b. 1871). The reverse is fitted with a fabric-covered panel and rope trim. Individual painting sight sizes measure approximately 6.5" x 5". Dimensions: 37 X 48 X 7 in. Condition: Good to fair overall antique condition with typical age-related surface wear and patina throughout. The watercolor paintings exhibit discoloration and spotting. The reverse fabric panel shows visible splits, tears, and other wear consistent with age and use.
