Vor tiefem, sattem Schwarz entfalten sich rote und blaue Sonnenformen, die sich sowohl in Form von kompakten, strahlenden Kernen, als auch nach oben in Form eines Feldes feiner Farbpunkte zeigen. Die charakteristische Punktrasterung, die Piene bereits in seinen frühen Rasterbildern und Lichtballetten entwickelte, erscheint hier als formales wie inhaltliches Prinzip: Licht wird nicht abgebildet, sondern als Ausbreitung und Streuung erfahrbar gemacht.
