CHRISTUS HEILT EINE KRANKE FRAU Öl auf Holz, teils verstärkt. 57,5 x 76 cm. Das Gemälde ist aufgelistet und abgebildet im RKD, Den Haag, unter der Nummer 122915 als Jan Symonsz. Pynas. Die Darstellung geht auf Matthäus 9,20-22 zurück. Jesus war mit seinen Jüngern in Städten und Dörfern unterwegs und verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich, als eine Frau, die seit zwölf Jahren an Blutfluss litt, heimlich von hinten an ihn herantrat und den Saum seines Gewandes berührte in der Hoffnung auf Heilung. Jesus drehte sich um, sah sie und sprach, ihr Glaube hätte ihr geholfen und die Frau wurde in derselben Stunde gesund. Gezeigt wird in der Mitte des Gemäldes Jesus in seinem rosafarbenen Gewand, umgeben von Jüngern und Zuhörern, in dem Moment, in dem die kniende Frau sein Gewand berührt hat und er sich umdreht. Das Ereignis wird von zwei Männern am linken Bildrand vor einem hohen Baum und auf der rechten Bildseite von einem Paar aufmerksam, teils verwundert, betrachtet. Im Hintergrund unter beige-grauem Himmel mehrere antike Bauten und Ruinen. Teils rest. Es existiert eine weitere größere, vom Künstler signierte Version. Anmerkung: Im RKD sind insgesamt drei Versionen des Gemäldes gelistet, die alle Jan Symonsz. Pynas zuwiesen sind. Das hier vorliegende Gemälde wird dabei als 2. Version bezeichnet. Version 1 ist etwas größer (76,4 x 94,4 cm) und Version 3 etwas kleiner (41 x 56 cm). (1481649) (1) (18)
