Anthony Quinn Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1915 - d. 2001

Actor and artist Anthony Quinn was born in 1915 in Mexico and emigrated to the United States as a child, becoming a citizen in 1947.  A prolific actor, he is perhaps best known for his role as Zorba the Greek. Quinn was nominated for multiple Tony Awards and became the first Mexican-born actor to win an Oscar, receiving two best supporting actor trophies. All these experience helped in his creation of many Anthony Quinn paintings.

As well as being an actor, he earned much acclaim for his artwork. Anthony Quinn studied architecture under Frank Lloyd Wright before becoming an actor, and later in his career spent more time on art than performing. Anthony Quinn’s paintings and sculptures are often abstract portraits that draw on his diverse talents. Encourage thought and conversation with striking abstract sculptures from Invaluable.
