Pierre-Auguste Renoir's drawing talent garnered attention for him while working in a porcelain factory as a teenager. This began his artistic career as a painter of fine porcelains. Eventually pursuing formal study under the Swiss painter Charles Gleyre, Renoir met the painters, including Claude Monet, with whom he would co-found the Impressionist movement. With the independent showing of the Impressionists, Pierre Auguste Renoir's paintings and artwork for sale attracted the attention of Victor Chocquet, a collector who commissioned a portrait. Renoir's work as a portrait painter gave him the financial freedom to travel.

A trip to Italy convinced the artist that Impressionism lacked structure, and he turned to more classical styles of art. With an emphasis on composition and drawing, Pierre-Auguste Renoir created works such as Luncheon of the Boating Party and many of his most lauded sensual portraits of women. Das Licht streift die schimmernde Schuppenhaut, ein eindrückliches Wechselspiel von Licht und zarter Farbe. In contrast to his contemporaries Claude Monet and Alfred Sisley, Auguste Renoir showed little interest in still life at the beginning of his career. From around 1880, however, it became increasingly important in his work and emphasised the "academic" approach that influenced his art. The artist, who was famous for his expressive portraits and lively scenes in nature, turned to still life painting as it was an exercise in light, colour and form and also sold very well. In his late still life compositions, Renoir carried out some of his most thorough research into the effects of light and colour on objects and surfaces. Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted numerous still lifes, mostly with fruit, but also some with fish. Three fish lie on a draped cloth, the composition of the picture is very dynamic, the fish appear to have been freshly caught. The light touches the shimmering scales, creating an impressive interplay of light and delicate colour. Auf einer fein drapierten Tischdecke liegen fünf frisch gepflückte Früchte. Das Licht durchdringt das Stillleben und erfüllt die Szene mit einer atmosphärischen Ausstrahlung. Impeccable condition Erläuterungen / Comments Die Bronze "La danseuse au voile" bezieht sich auf das Gemälde "Das Urteil von Paris". 1913 schuf Pierre-Auguste Renoir eine zweite Fassung seines ursprünglich 1908 entstandenen Gemäldes. Im selben Jahr begann er in Essoyes mit dem jungen Bildhauer Richard Guino an Skulpturen zu arbeiten. Guino, der zuvor mit Aristide Maillol zusammengearbeitet hate, half dem Meister bei der für ihn neuen Technik. Aus der Zeit der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Renoir und Guino stammen 14 Skulpturen. Die Hälfte davon stehen in Bezug zu den weiblichen Figuren des Gemäldes. The bronze "La danseuse au voile" refers to the painting "The Judgement of Paris". In 1913, Pierre-Auguste Renoir created a second version of his original 1908 painting. In the same year, he began working on sculptures in Essoyes with the young sculptor Richard Guino. Guino, who had previously worked with Aristide Maillol, helped the master with his new technique. Fourteen sculptures date from the period of collaboration between Renoir and Guino. Half of them are related to the female figures in the painting.
