A comprehensive search of Livingston Roberts Full palette knife paintings brought forth a bakers dozen and precious rare are examples with this enthusiasm for color. Rendered at the tender age of 24, this paragon exemplifies Livingston's quest for excellence. Like Van Gogh Livingston had an almost maddening and unrelenting pursuit for perfection in capturing light and emotion on canvas. Borrowing conceptual brush strokes from Backus with uncharacteristic blue and pink in the palette tree bark, bold and randomly incised grass for Harold to anchor the corners and a captivating atmospheric perspective in flora fauna and sailboat as only Bean could do it. autographed by Al Black on verso with an attest that he sold this painting as salesman for Livingston Roberts in 1966.
