Note: Robson typically produced idyllic, dreamy views of the British countryside, just like the present work. A modern inscription to the reverse of the frame suggests that this view likely depicts the bridge of Pont Fawr at Llanrwst, which was built in 1634 and partially rebuilt several times.

[sic.] / by George Fennel [sic.] Robson / B1788-D.1833.' on the reverse, 38.5 x 62.5 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Clarens-Montreux is a neighbourhood in Montreux, the municipality and town on the shoreline of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, at the foot of the Alps. The present work forms a sweeping view of Chillon Castle - one of the most visited medieval castles in Europe - on the left bank of the lake, and the municipality of Villeneuve, further in the distance.
