      Est: €5,600 - €7,000

Acrylic on canvas Venice/Italy, 1995 Luigi Rocca (born 1952) - Italian painter Signed in yellow lower left and right, respectively, 'L. Rocca' Each painting inscribed, dated and signed on the reverse, 'New York N.Y./Venice 1995/Luigi Rocca' as well as with indication of technique and size; the stretchers marked with stamps from the Galleria San Giorgio, Portofino Dimensions: 60 x 30 cm each Very good condition Provenance: Private collection, Germany A pair of typical 'New York Mood' paintings During his studies in the United States, Luigi Rocca (born 1952) discovered the Pop art and the Hyperrealism, from which he incorporates elements in his work. Urban landscapes are a recurring subject in Rocca's oeuvre, especially the city of New York always inspires him to new compositions. Contrary to his more realistic paintings, the present painting features an 'impressionistic' style of painting that demonstrates the thrill atmosphere in the streets of the metropolis. Condition: The paintings are in very good condition. One work shows light finger marks to the upper edge. The dimensions are 60 x 30 cm each. Luigi Rocca (b. 1952) The Italian painter Luigi Rocca was born in Porpetto near Udine, where he began his artistic training. In Turin, he completed his studies and gained the first public recognition for his figurative works. In 1980, his first solo exhibition was held in Manaus, Brazil, which was followed by major exhibitions in Turin (1985) and Portofino (1987) establishing him as a hyper-realist. In 1996, Rocca moved to Venice, where he has since been represented by the gallery Melori & Rosenberg. In 1998, he experienced his American debut at the Art Expo in New York. Since then, further exhibitions have been held in New Orleans, San Francisco, Berlin and Hamburg. (cko) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
