Note: Roth is best known as an acclaimed stage designer who worked on Broadway and for the Metropolitan and New York City Operas. He had a life-long interest in the circus, evident in both his visual art and ''The Littlest Circus,'' a pantomime show featuring clowns, jugglers, and magicians he performed on Broadway in 1959.
