    Curt Rothe, Bauern bei der Feldarbeit im Vordergrund umgrabender Bauer mit säender Bäuerin, seitlich eine Karre und weitere arbeitende Bauern, flott erfasste studienhafte Malerei, Öl auf Leinwand, rechts unten signiert, auf Keilrahmen gerahmt, normale Altersspuren, Maße ca. 69 x 89 cm. Künstlerinfo: dt. Maler, Grafiker und Hochschullehrer (1899 Wachwitz bei Dresden bis 1973 Tunesien), 1938 Erhalt eines Lehrauftrags für Malerei an der Kunstakademie Krakau, nach dem 2. Weltkrieg als Professor an der Kunstgewerbeschule Pforzheim (spätere Fachhochschule für Gestaltung) tätig, unternahm diverse Studienreisen, u. a. nach Nordafrika, war verheiratet mit der Künstlerin Lore Rothe (geb. Silbereisen, 1907-1956) sowie ab 1958 in zweiter Ehe mit seiner ehemaligen Studentin, der später international bekannten Mezzotinto-Grafikerin Gatja Helgart Rothe (1935-2002), Mitglied im Bund Nationalsozialistischer Deutscher Juristen, trat parallel für politisch Verfolgte ein (u. a. Einsatz für den Chemnitzer Pfarrer Ludwig Kirsch), vertreten in zeitgeschichtlichen Datenbanken und Archiven (u. a. Hauptstaatsarchiv Stuttgart). Artist information: German painter, graphic artist and university lecturer (1899, Wachwitz near Dresden – 1973, Tunisia); in 1938, appointed lecturer in painting at the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts; after the Second World War, worked as a professor at the Pforzheim School of Applied Arts (later the University of Applied Arts), undertook various study trips, including to North Africa, was married to the artist Lore Rothe (née Silbereisen, 1907–1956) and, from 1958, in his second marriage to his former student, the later internationally renowned mezzotint artist Gatja Helgart Rothe (1935–2002), a member of the League of National Socialist German Lawyers, whilst at the same time advocating on behalf of those persecuted for political reasons (including his support for the Chemnitz pastor Ludwig Kirsch), and is documented in contemporary historical databases and archives (including the Main State Archive in Stuttgart).
