        Est: €5,000 - €8,000

283). Jan Brueghel I a également réalisé des scènes d'incendie. Estimation 20 000 - 30 000 €

Hans Rottenhammer (1564 –1625) – Attributed, Reclining Venus in a Landscape

        Est: €3,000 - €5,000

Hans Rottenhammer was the main representative of cabinet painting on copper in the period around 1600. His compositions show a strong influence of Venetian painting, which he translated into a small format. Between 1591 and 1606 he worked in Venice, then in Augsburg; he also worked for Emperor Rudolf II in Prague, as an artist and art agent. In the landscape, under a red curtain, Venus lies on a blanket and a large pillow looking curiously at the viewer. A small cupid holds a wreath of flowers above his head. Putto sits lower left weaving another wreath of flowers. To the right, the view goes to a green landscape where a round temple rises on a hill. The painting varies the composition of Rottenhammer. These paintings were modeled after famous depictions of Venus by Titian and other Venetian artists of the 16th century. Oil on copper, 24.2 x 31 cm

After models by HANS ROTTENHAMMER (1564-1625). Atelier of HANS JACOB BAYER (1574-1628) "The Rape of the Sabine Women", ca. 1610. Bronze and chiselled lead. Measurements: 15.5 cm in diameter. Relief plaque, made in the workshop of Hans Jakob Bayer, representing the mythological theme of the Rape of the Sabine Women, following a pictorial model by the German painter Hans Rottenhammer. Hans Jakob Bayer was born in Augsburg and was registered as a master and member of the guild in 1616. He is known to have made a silver monstrance for Eichstatt Cathedral and was considered one of the best silversmiths in the region. It depicts the episode from classical mythology in which the Sabine women are abducted by the founders of the city of Rome during a banquet organised by Romulus; later, the legendary Sabine king Titus Tatius declared war on Rome, but the same women, now married and with children, intervened to prevent the massacre, all fighting ceased and peace and partnership between the two peoples was achieved.

Jahrhunderts. (1340653) (13)

Hans Rottenhammer (1564 –1625) – Attributed, Reclining Venus in a Landscape

        Est: €5,000 - €7,000
