With clear, geometric structures and monochromatic surfaces, the object-like painting merges with spatial art, making Scheggi one of the leading representatives of "Pittura Oggetto." The interplay of light and shadow through the transparent and opaque Plexiglas elements gives the work a dynamic depth reminiscent of his influences, such as Lucio Fontana.

Paolo Scheggi, Ohne Titel (Intersuperfici curve), sign. Multiple der 1960er Jahre Paolo Scheggi, 1940 Settignano - 1971 Rom, Maler des Konstruktivismus. Hier: Ohne Titel, perforiertes Multiple aus braunem Papier, 31 x 30 cm, signiert, nummeriert 190/200, o. Rahmen Zum Künstler: Paolo Scheggi erhielt seine Ausbildung in Florenz an der Akademie der Schönen Künste. 1960 gründete er die Kunst- und Literaturzeitschrift Il malinteso. 1961 zog er nach Mailand um, wo er in Kontakt zu den Mailänder Konzeptkünstlern Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2013), Enrico Castellani und Dadamaino (1930-2004) kam und sich mit dem Informel und dem Werk Lucio Fontanas auseinandersetzte. 1965 hatte er die ersten Ausstellungen seiner Objekte in Mailänder Galerien. Scheggis monochrom gelbes Exponat „Intersuperficie curva da giallo“ (1965) zeigt die Verräumlichung des Tafelbildes zum Bild-Objekt. Er schnitt in geometrischer Anordnung kreisrunde Löcher in die mit Leinen überzogenen Wände, die er schließlich hintereinander montierte. 1966 war er auf der 33. Biennale di Venezia vertreten, wo er vier derartige Objekte (Intersuperfici curve) in weiß, gelb, rot und blau zeigte. In Paris war er 1966 mit einer Arbeit in der Abteilung der Konstruktivisten auf dem 21. Salon de Réalités Nouvelles im Pariser Musée d'art moderne vertreten.Im Januar 2013 wird die „Associazione Paolo Scheggi“ in Mailand gegründet wurde.

Carl Laszlo, Editions Panderma. - Das Oeuvre Paolo Scheggis ist der italienischen Neo-Avantgarde der 1960er Jahre zuzuordnen. Seine künstlerische Ausbildung erhielt er zunächst an der Akademie der Schönen Künste in Florenz, er orientierte sich jedoch bereits früh in Richtung der geometrisch monochromen Bildgestaltung, was für seine Kunst kennzeichnend ist. Scheggi kann zu den Pionieren der "Pittura Oggeto", der Objektmalerei gezählt werden, und erweckt hiermit bereits früh das Interesse von Lucio Fontana, welchem er freundschaftlich verbunden ist. Der Künstler nimmt an vielen wichtigen Ausstellungen weltweit teil und steht in Kontakt zur Künstlergruppe Zero. 1971 verstirbt er mit nur 30 Jahren und hinterlässt ein Werk, welches in seiner Formensprache an Aktualität nichts eingebüßt hat. Each signed, one print numbered. - Edges very slightly scuffed, partly due to technique a few faint stains, hardly browned on the verso. Altogether very well preserved. Throughout splendid impressions in vivid colours of the mostly format-filling depictions. - One of 100 copies. - Published by Carl Laszlo, Editions Panderma. - Paolo Scheggi's oeuvre can be assigned to the Italian neo-avant-garde of the 1960s. He initially received his artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence but early on he oriented himself towards geometric monochrome pictorial design which is characteristic of his art. Scheggi can be counted among the pioneers of "Pittura Oggeto", or object painting, and thus early on aroused the interest of Lucio Fontana, to whom he was on friendly terms. The artist took part in many important exhibitions worldwide and was in contact with the artist group Zero. Paolo Scheggi was a pioneer in the practice of approaching paintings as objects, creating layered monochromatic works that emphasized the picture plane’s physicality over its representational potential. At a young age, his sheet metal assemblages and collages attracted the attention of art critic Germano Celant and artist Lucio Fontana. He later received international acclaim for his “Intersuperfici” and “Strutture Modulari” works, which feature solidly colored canvases or sheets of cardboard dotted with small elliptical apertures. Placed atop one another, each layer exposes the one beneath it. Scheggi’s work has been included in multiple Venice Biennales, both during and immediately after his short life. He was briefly associated with the Nul and Zero groups and the New Tendencies movement, all of which reacted against the dominant postwar expressionist movements.

Hand-Signed and numbered by the Artist. Has some user marks, otherwise in good condition. Publisher: Editions Panderma Carl Laszlo. Paolo Scheggi was a pioneer in the practice of approaching paintings as objects, creating layered monochromatic works that emphasized the picture plane’s physicality over its representational potential. At a young age, his sheet metal assemblages and collages attracted the attention of art critic Germano Celant and artist Lucio Fontana. He later received international acclaim for his “Intersuperfici” and “Strutture Modulari” works, which feature solidly colored canvases or sheets of cardboard dotted with small elliptical apertures. Placed atop one another, each layer exposes the one beneath it. Scheggi’s work has been included in multiple Venice Biennales, both during and immediately after his short life. He was briefly associated with the Nul and Zero groups and the New Tendencies movement, all of which reacted against the dominant postwar expressionist movements.
