    Early 20th Century oil painting on canvas depicting a serene Alpine mountain landscape by Hans Schuler, signed lower right. The composition features a picturesque country church nestled among rolling green meadows beneath dramatic snow-capped peaks, with towering clouds illuminated by soft golden light. Executed in a traditional European landscape style, the painting captures the tranquility and grandeur of the Alpine countryside through refined brushwork, atmospheric perspective, and a harmonious natural palette. Framed size: 32" x 23 1/2". Hans Schuler (1874-1951) was a German-born American sculptor and monument maker. He became the first American sculptor to receive the prestigious Salon Gold Medal in Paris. Schuler created numerous public monuments, particularly throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C., and his work is represented in major museum collections. In addition to his artistic achievements, he served for more than 25 years as president of the Maryland Institute College of Art.
