Born in Ontario, Canada, in 1948, artist Peter Sculthorpe attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Arts in Philadelphia. Using watercolors, oil paints, and graphite, painter Peter Sculthorpe recreated historic landscapes in the United States and the Maritimes of Canada. He eventually purchased space for a studio in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where he painted realistic farm and city scenes. It is not uncommon for horses, cows, dogs, and other farm animals to be part of his rural landscapes.

Sculthorpe landscapes for sale include coastal images from his trips to Maine. During the height of his career, artist Peter Sculthorpe created artwork for major corporations including Nabisco, General Electric, DuPont, and AT&T.
