Vincent Selby, an artist well-known for his clear-cut style and his stunning English landscapes, studied art at Stockport College in the UK, and his tutors included prominent artists of the 1930s. During World War II, Selby joined the Royal Artillery, and after his discharge, he worked for a popular furniture company in charge of display and interior design.
Selby turned to full-time art in 1973, and his distinctive landscape paintings show the strong influence of English landscape painters of the 19th century. Many of Selby's framed oil paintings for sale show well-defined portrayals of his subject matter as can be seen in Early Evening, Melting Snow, and Winter Scene. Vincent Selby paintings are sold worldwide, and because of his popularity, you'll find many of his landscape oil paintings for sale as prints as well as originals.
