(1952)

Biography

Mary Louise Snowden is an artist whose bronze sculptures are featured worldwide, including in the Hakone Open-Air Museum in Japan, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the White House, and Buckingham Palace. The worth of an M.L. Snowden sculpture is shown by the numerous awards bestowed on her work.

As an artist, Snowden was classically trained. She began her sculpting career with a 17-year apprenticeship under her father, George Holburn Snowden, who was trained by George Eberhard, a student of Rodin's.

Snowden carries on Rodin’s legacy through her powerful bronze sculptures depicting Earth and mankind. Her most renowned works include the 14-foot high Glendale Police Memorial in California and the Main Altar in the Los Angeles Cathedral. Several of her bronze sculptures are displayed at various galleries nationwide, and collectors keep a sharp eye on M.L.
