LA PLAGE A SOULAC-SUR-MER, UM 1906 Öl auf Leinwand. 65 x 81 cm. Links unten signiert „N. Tarkhoff'“. In dekorativem Rahmen. Herr Guy Abot, Direktor des Nicolas Tarkhoff Committees, hat die Echtheit bestätigt, zudem soll das Werk in das in Vorbereitung befindliche Werkverzeichnis des Künstlers aufgenommem werden. Blick auf einen sonnenbeschienenen Strand mit aufgestellten Zelten und Sonnenschirmen, sowie mehrere Figuren. Das Sonnenlicht kommt von links und wirft teils größere, türkisfarbene Schatten auf den gelb schimmernden Strand. Dahinter in einem schmalen Streifen das blaue Mehr und darüber der hohe Himmel in einer flirrenden Farbenvielfalt von grünen, türkisen, blauen und lila Farbtönen. Wiedergabe in schnellen und prägnanten Pinselstrichen in impressionistischer Manier. Der Künstler studierte ab 1897 unter Konstantin A. Korovin (1861–1939). Im Alter von 28 Jahren besuchte er erstmals Paris, wo er studierte und als Zeichner tätig war. 1906 hatte er eine Einzelausstellung in der Galerie von Ambroise Vollard, dem berühmten Pariser Kunsthändler, der alle führenden französischen Impressionisten vertrat. Die Ausstellung machte ihn berühmt. Zu Lebzeiten wurden seine Werke von Kunstkennern wie Rothschild sowie von Künstlern wie André Derain (1880–1954) und André Lhote (1885–1962) erworben. Blick von erhöhtem Standpunkt hinab auf ein rundes Zirkuszelt, um das herum zahlreiche Besucher bis zur Unkenntlichkeit mit bewegten Strichen angedeutet sind; daneben mehrere Jahrmarktbuden. Im Vordergrund frisches beiges bis hellgrünes Blattwerk, während im Hintergrund die Häuser einer Stadt zu sehen sind. Malerei in impressionistischer Manier, in raschem Pinselduktus bei teils breitem Pinselstrich. Der Künstler studierte ab 1897 unter Konstantin A. Korovin (1861 – 1939). Das Gemälde entstand in der Anfangszeit seines Aufenthaltes in Paris. Vom russischen Stil des Impressionismus ist in dem 1906 entstandenen Werk kaum noch etwas zu erkennen; vielmehr tritt eine lichte, pointillistische Farbpalette hervor, die deutlich vom französischen Malstil jener Jahre beeinflusst ist., Geprägt wurde sie maßgeblich durch Künstler wie Renoir, Matisse, Van Dongen oder den Pointillisten wie Maximilian Luce, mit denen der Künstler gemeinsam in Ausstellungen des berühmten Ambroise Vollard vertreten war. BOUTIQUE DE LOCATION, PARIS UND LA SEINE AU PONT D‘AUSTERLITZ Öl auf Leinwand. 81,3 x 53,3 cm. Die Vorderseite links unten, die Rückseite rechts unten signiert. Beigegeben ein Zertifikat des Comité Nikolas Tarkhov von 18. Dezember 2021, in Kopie. Zwei Gemälde auf einem Farbträger, wobei das erstgenannte Bildmotiv im Hochformat als Vorderseite dient, während die Seine-Ansicht auf der Rückseite im Querformat geschaffen wurde. Der Betrachterstandort des in kräftigerer Farbigkeit gehaltenen Pariser Motivs ist durch die Reklameaufschrift der ‚Boutique Location‘ gesichert. Hier wird eine Stadtteilsituation wie zufällig zum Bildthema: Zwischen Gebäuden und Parkbäumen deuten kräftige Farbtupfer eine Menschenansammlung an, einige Personen im Vordergrund sind deutlicher herausgehoben. Der Blick, aus erhöhtem Standpunkt, reicht hinüber zu einer im Licht stehenden Gebäudeguppe mit hellen Schieferdächern, während das Gebäude am linken Bildrand eingerüstet erscheint. In weit gedämpfteren Farben ist die rückseitige Seine-Ansicht, auch hier voll ausgeführt, jedoch farblich unspektakulär, nur mit Hervorhebung der Austerlitz-Bogenbrücke links. Ein weiteres Werk, ‚Notre Dame‘, das unlängst im Kunstmarkt aufgetaucht und ins Jahr 1903 datiert wurde, zeigt eine ähnliche hell-pastellige Malweise. Über den russischen Maler, einem beachtlichen Meister des Neo-Impressionismus, der sich in Paris niederließ und dessen Werk hohe Qualität aufweist, ist nicht allzu viel bekannt geworden. A. R.
