Obverse has semi nude woman, signed "P. Turin" along rim. Reverse has a bouquet of flowers in background and "EXPOSITION/ INTERNATIONALE/ DES ARTS DECORATIFS/ ET INDUSTRIELS MODERNES/ PARIS 1925." 2 3/8" x 3/16" ++ A Dublin International Exhibition bronze table medal. 1865. Designed by Alexandre Geefs (Belgium, 1829-1866). Obverse: Central winged prosperity. Legend "ARTS AND MANUFACTURERS." Exergue "ALEX. GEEFS INV. & FECIT./ BRUSSELS."             Pierre Turin (France, 1891-1968) - Nude Woman, Bronze Relief. Signed. 10x3.3cm. Frame: 17x10.5cm. Pierre Turin is widely considered the most accomplished Art Deco medalist. He attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, where he studied under Vernon, Patey and Coutain. In 1920 he won the Grand Prix de Rome, and was made Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1936. His most famous work is the medal for the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts that gave the name to the Art Deco style.
