They became lifelong friends with a mutual aesthetic impact on one another's careers. Umlauf drew and sculpted Fawcett on multiple occasions, and Fawcett took inspiration from Umlauf's oeuvre to create intimate portraits of her family. Though our collaborative research with the Umlauf Sculpture Garden did not reveal a direct link between this sculpture and a specific model, we found evidence suggesting Fawcett as a potential candidate. Unlike the records for many of Umlauf's other works, "Disrobing" does not indicate a model. While "Disrobing" shares characteristics of other bronzes in which Fawcett is the confirmed subject, such as the stylized big hair, without the notation of the model in Umlauf's file, we can neither confirm nor deny with certainty that this piece represents Farrah Fawcett.**
