Biography

Born in 1884 in Charleston, South Carolina, artist Elizabeth O'Neill Verner is celebrated for her vast number of etchings and pastel works. Verner studied under famous painter Thomas Anshutz at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, but later returned to Charleston where she eventually opened her own studio. Elizabeth O'Neill Verner prints are most notable for their subject matter, featuring Charleston's iconic architecture and unique landscapes.
